The skills and livelihoods Programme of CIWED is devoted to decreasing the employment and poverty levels in Ghanaian economy Particularly Northern Region. This is achieved through providing of youth with a variety of sustainable skills and livelihood opportunities.

This initiative determines the income generating activity in the locality of the clients that many people have a need for and will always search for such products. Beneficiaries are thought scientific methods of making income on sustainable basis. In line with this initiatives is the issue of reassuring parents to enroll their children in school going age since education is an instrument that facilitate reduction of poverty, and creating a civilize environment with mature minds to promote the requisite development needed. As the saying goes that a sound mind develops a sound body. It further says peace is pre-requisite for development, therefore in our interventions peace as the needed developmental element require for one to emphasize much on people co-existing and tolerating each other’s opinions to help bring the needed development into the community. Peace is term peace as pre-requisite for development because resources that would have been channel to maintaining peace would have been use for human and society development.

Use of clean energy for domestic and commercial purposes: This initiative is to encourage community members to understand the need to plan for accessing clean energy from human waste and other degradable materials to complement, as an alternative energy source.

By estimation this form of energy complements reduction in the incomes that will have gone into purchase of energy for either household which is domestic or the other for commercial purposes.

  • Improve income of young people through engagement in income generation activities.
  • Improved the management of financial resources of young people.
  • Increased the adaptation of agricultural and environmental best practices to alleviate the effects of climate change, especially on women.
